'Blessing of the Jeeps' today at Bald Knob Cross

Hundreds of jeeps are expected to climb the hill to Bald Knob Cross of Peace for their own annual event on Saturday.

The annual Blessing of the Jeeps is set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Admission is free.

Organizers say there will be blessing prayers at 9:30 a.m. and noon, plus, food trucks, merch and collector’s items. 

Last year about 300 Jeeps, and an even larger number is anticipated this weekend.

Just last month, Bald Knob's annual Blessing of the Bikes drew more than 2500 motorcycles to the cross.

Alto Pass is located in Union County, about five miles northwest of Cobden.
