15th annual Ratoberfest happens this weekend at Beacon Dragway

The 15th annual Ratoberfest kicks off this weekend at Beacon Dragway, featuring rat rods and hot rods in a car and bike show welcoming all makes, years, and models. 

There will also be a pinup contest, drag racing, shopping pavilion, food, an auction, and more to benefit several local nonprofits.

The fun actually starts on Thursday at the Calvert Drive-In with a pre-cruise in starting at 4:30, then a movie at dusk. Admission is $10.

Friday night at the dragway includes music and food, plus heads up racing. Entry is $10 per person. 

On Saturday, gates open at 7 a.m. for spectators and car show participants, with admission of $15 per person, kids 12 and under free.  

Saturday's activities continue until awards are presented that afternoon. Shopping in the "Ladies Room" and the swap meet will take place throughout the day. Flag drags and a live auction will also take place.
