15th Iron Mom half marathon set for May 9

The 15th annual Mercy Health Iron Mom half marathon is fast approaching on Saturday, May 9. It's one of Paducah's biggest Mother's Day weekend traditions.

While some will go for the entire half marathon on their own, you can also sign up as a relay team, or run the 5K event. Last year 870 runners took to the streets of Paducah, and there's still time for you to sign up.

Spectator groups are also encouraged, and can even win prizes.

Organizers are also looking for lots of volunteers to help with event setup, traffic contraol and keep race day running smoothly. You can sign up here .

Otherwise, folks across Paducah are asked to be mindful of the hundreds of runners on city streets. The official course will be active from 7am until 11 am on race day.

Last year's Iron Mom raised more than $74,000 for Family Service Society.
