Kentucky U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell continues to recover but will not be on the Senate floor this week.
According to staff, the senator will “not be voting this week,” but he is continuing to work.
“Senator McConnell is still working closely with staff on Senate business and Kentucky matters as he continues his recovery,” staff posted in a written statement.
McConnell was admitted to the hospital on June 14, but no information has been released as what he is being treated for.
He was previously hospitalized in February after experiencing flu-like symptoms.
The 84-year-old McConnell is not seeking reelection. U.S. Rep. Andy Barr and Charles Booker are vying to replace him in the fall.
