The trial date has been set for a former Fulton County official accused of multiple crimes, including arson and witness tampering.

The Fulton County Circuit Court Clerk confirmed that Bobby Keith Curlin of Fulton appeared before Judge Tim Langford on Thursday, and his trial was set for April 22 and 23. A status hearing is scheduled for March 14.

Curlin was indicted in November on nine counts of first degree wanton endangerment, and one count each of second degree arson, first degree criminal mischief, and first degree official misconduct.

The charges are related to a suspicious structure fire last June on Walnut St. in Fulton. Investigators said they found evidence showing Curlin had set the fire that destroyed a home and damaged an adjacent home.

Curlin was previously indicted in July for tampering with a witness and menacing after he reportedly contacted the witness and attempted to affect her testimony in the case.

Curlin was the code enforcement officer for the city of Fulton, working under the direction of the Fire Chief.
