A grand jury has returned felony indictments for a former City of Fulton code enforcement officer accused of arson and witness tampering.

The Fulton Police Department says Bobby Keith Curlin of Fulton was indicted on charges of second degree arson, nine counts of first degree wanton endangerment, one count of first degree criminal mischief, and one count of first degree official misconduct.

Curlin’s indictment comes after a five-month investigation into a suspicious structure fire at 805 Walnut St. in Fulton. Investigators said they found evidence showing Curlin had set the fire that destroyed a home and damaged an adjacent home.

Curlin was also indicted in July for tampering with a witness and menacing after he reportedly contacted a witness in the investigation and attempted to affect her testimony in the case.

Curlin was released on a $1500 cash bond.
