More prolonged heat this week

A prolonged period of heat and humidity will impact our region through at least Wednesday. 

A heat advisory is in effect through Wednesday evening with aily heat index readings ranging from 100 to 110 are expected. 

A stormier pattern emerges over the back half of the week, with Thursday offering best precipitation and strength of storm chances.

Any rain chances are more toward Indiana and the Pennyrile region early in the week, then more widespread Thursday and Friday. A few strong storms could be possible.

Southern parts of the Quad State have more potential to stay dry, and to keep heat index readings above 100 all week.
