A collision between a scooter and an SUV seriously injured a Paducah girl.

The crash happened just before Noon along South Gum Springs Road, just off Lovelaceville, in a curve. McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies said that 12-year-old Noel Schroeder of Paducah was riding an electric scooter around a curve when she collided with an SUV driven by 17-year-old Nina Perrault, also of Paducah. Investigators believe Schroeder rounded the sharp curve right into the path of the SUV, striking the front of it.

Schroeder suffered what were described as incapacitating injuries and had to be transferred to an out-of-state hospital to be treated.

Perrault was not hurt.
