A Benton man was arrested Thursday after a dispute with an individual over dogs that were fighting.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said deputies were summoned to Marshall County Hospital after a victim wanted to file an assault report. The victim told deputies that 42-year-old Joseph McWilliams used brass knuckles to strike the individual, which caused injury. The dispute was over dogs fighting near a home on Olive Hamlet Road. McWilliams is said to have gotten rid of the brass knuckles before deputies interviewed him.

McWilliams was arrested and charged with assault and tampering with physical evidence.
