It appears Kentucky associate head coach and recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow is on the move.
According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Marrow is set to become the general manager of the Louisville football team, where he will reportedly oversee roster management, recruiting and the transfer portal.
It is unknown how Marrow's hiring will affect football chief of staff Greg Brohm, Jeff's brother. Since Jeff was hired as U of L's head coach in Dec., 2022, Greg has handled a wide range of responsibilities, including all general manager duties such as staff oversight, operational planning, external affairs, roster management, self-scout, game management, and strategic decision-making.
Marrow has been with Mark Stoops during his entire tenure as coach of the Wildcats and has served as associate head coach, tight ends coach, recruiting coordinator, and NFL liaison.
During his tenure in Lexington, Marrow has reportedly turned down several opportunities with other programs, including North Carolina, Michigan State and Michigan.
Earlier this year, Louisville tried to lure Marrow away from UK following the Cats' 4-8 season, but opted to remain in Lexington. Marrow received a contract extension in 2024 through the 2026 season for $1.3 million annually, which made him the second-highest paid assistant on Stoops' staff behind defensive coordinator Bard White, who earns $1.7 million.
Marrow would have to pay $400,000 to Kentucky a buyout clause become an assistant at another school. He seemed set to return to UK when interviewed last winter.
"There's no doubt in my mind that we're going to get this thing right," Marrow said on Kentucky Sports Radio last December.
Now it appears Marrow has doubts about the future of the UK program under Stoops and is jumping ship to the archrival.
