The Murray State Racers dropped a 7-4 decision Saturday in the opener of the NCAA Durham Super Regional to the Duke Blue Devils in Durham, North Carolina.
Game two of the best two-of-three series will be played Sunday at 11 a.m. Central Time. The game will air on one of the ESPN channels that will be announced later.The Racers must win to force a third and deciding game on Monday. The winner of the series gets a spot in next week's College World Series in Omaha June 13-23.
The Racers scored the first two runs of the game on a sacrifice fly by Dan Tauken in the first inning and an RBI base hit by Dom Decker in the third.
After Duke tied it 2-2 in the bottom of the third, they took the lead for good in the fourth when they plated three more runs for a 5-2 advantage against MSU starter Nic Schutte.
The Racers scored two runs in the top of the seventh, on a hit by Decker and a sacrifice fly from Luke Mistone to make it a 7-4 game, but weren't able to mount a comeback in their final two times at bat.
