Western Kentucky sports legends Emma Talley, Joe Morris and Curtis Turley were officially inducted into the KHSAA Hall of Fame over the weekend in Lexington.

Caldwell County alum and former LPGA professional golfer Talley played in seven consecutive Kentucky state tournaments from 2005 through 2011. Talley won six consecutive regional individual titles, and captured state championships in 2008, 2010, and 2011.

She would have won four state championships in a row, but in 2009 she self-reported a scorecard error that led to her disqualification. It's been considered one of the best displays of character and integrity at a KHSAA state championship event.

At the University of Alabama she was a first team All-American, three-time All-SEC selection and won the NCAA individual championship in 2015.

She also captured the U.S. Amateur championship in 2013.

Talley went on to win over a million dollars on the LGPA Tour before retiring in 2025.

Talley was inducted into the Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame last year.

Longtime Mayfield football coach Joe Morris is also in the current class. Morris totaled an overall record of 299-56 from 1999-2024. The Cardinals made 21 trips to the state semifinals, played in 14 state championship games, and won seven state championships.

The Hall of Fame Class of 2026 also includes Curtis Turley, who played basketball at Crittenden County before his lengthy coaching career included stops at Lyon County and Henderson County as well as Warren Central and Daviess County. He compiled a career coaching record of 624-321.
