Murray State to play in Racer Arena again; Bidwell the new men's basketball announcer

Murray State University made a couple of big announcements during its annual basketball reunion, perhaps the largest of which involves Racer Arena.

The Racers will move across campus from the CFSB Center to Racer Arena for an exhibition game on November 1st. The opponent for the game has yet to be announced.

The game will mark the first time the Racers have played there since coming from behind to beat Tennessee State 81-76 on February 21st, 1998, completing a run of 30 consecutive wins to close out their tenure in the place they called home from 1954.

 Murray State Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said, "It has been a quarter century since we were able to celebrate Murray State Men's Basketball inside Racer Arena, and we are excited to give every generation of Racer fans an opportunity to relive the memories that they created in this historic venue."

There will be a special pre-sale for season ticket holders and The Winner's Circle student section members through Account Manager beginning on Monday, August 7. The remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, August 10.

The other news coming from the reunion involves the man that will call that game and the rest of the Racers' campaign through The Valley. 

Jeff Bidwell was introduced as the new radio voice of the basketball Racers by Neal Bradley, who is stepping down from basketball. Bidwell is the Editor-In-Chief of RacerBasketball.com, a site he launched earlier this year. He moves to the radio side of the business after covering the Racers on television for 20 years.  

Bradley will continue to do play-by-play for the Racer football team.
