The Murray State Racers take on the Nevada Wolf Pack tonight at 9 p.m. in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament in Reno.
The Racers are making their ninth NIT appearance and first since 2015 when they made it all the way to the quarterfinals.
The winner of the Racers and Wolf Pack meets Liberty, who defeated George Mason Tuesday 77-71.
Murray State's first year head coach, Ryan Miller, is a former assistant coach to Nevada's Steve Alford from 2007-12 at New Mexico. Murray State assistant coach Cullen Neal's father, Craig Neal of Nevada, are going head to head for the first time Wednesday in Reno.
The Racers are led by a trio of seniors, Fred King and Javon Jackson and MVC Freshman of the Year, Roman Domon. King was named MVC Newcomer of the Year and all three were part of the All-MVC team.
The Racers are coming off a quarterfinal loss to UIC at the MVC Tournament in St. Louis March 6. Nevada last played March 13 in the semifinals of the Mountain West Tournament, where they lost to Utah State 79-66.
