Hopkinsville High School cancels 2026 baseball season

Hopkinsville High School will not field a baseball team for the 2026 season.

According to a news release Thursday, HHS principal Cindy Campbell said a team would not be fielded in 2026 due to what was called "lack of student interest and participation"

The release also stated the school made "dilligent efforts" to have a team but were unable to do so.  School officials have met with parents and student athletes who want to play in the upcoming season to discuss options to be able to play in 2026.

Hopkinsville High and Christian County High School will merge next fall into one school.
