Merrick Resigns as Marshall Football Coach

Marshall County High School will have a new football coach next season.

Marshall County Director of Athletics Mike Johnson said Evan Merrick turned in his resignation letter on Wednesday. 

Merrick spent 16 seasons with the Marshall County program, the last six as head coach. He was named the 5A District 1 Coach of the Year in 2016. During his six seasons as head coach the Marshals went 18-45.

Johnson thanked Merrick for his hard work and dedication to the Marshall County football program. He said the head coaching position will be posted immediately and the search process will begin for a new head coach.
