Media reports Wednesday said that Willson Contreras has reached a deal with the St. Louis Cardinals to be the replacement for 19-year veteran All-Star catcher Yadier Molina.
It's reported to be a five-year, $87 million deal for the 30-year-old, who is a 14-year veteran of the Cubs organization.
In seven major league seasons, Contreras has hit .256 with 117 home runs. He's also known for his strong arm and ability to pick off runners.
