The Lyon County Lyons roared back from an 18-point deficit just before halftime, but fell just short to Danville Christian Academy 56-53 in the championship game of the boys All "A" Classic state basketball tournament in Owensboro on Sunday.

The Lyons got off to a slow start and trailed 34-20 at the half, but erupted for 22 points in the third quarter, including five threes. The two teams played to a standoff in the final period.

Danville (17-2) was the first team in the tournament to outrebound the Lyons, 38-21.

Lyon County (14-5) was led in scoring by the tandem of Cooper Collins with 26 points, and Bray Kirk with 21. Titus Boyd topped Danville Christian with 20.

Collins, Kirk and teammate Isaac Defew were all named to the all-tournament team. DCA's Boyd was named the tournament MVP.

On the girls' side, Danville Christian Academy also took the title. Crittenden County's Anna Boone and Jordyn Hodge were on the all-tourney team.
