The Murray State Racers dropped a 66-49 game Sunday to the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the opening round of the 15th annual Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu.

Suffering a poor first half on offense, the Racers began the game by hitting only 1-of-16 from the field and ended the half down 34-14 to the Cornhuskers.

In the first 20 minutes of play, the Racers shot 14 percent (4-of-28) overall, 3-of-15 from the 3-point line for 20 percent and 3-of-9 from the free throw line for 33 percent.

Kylen Milton led the Racers with 19 points, matching his MSU-best scoring game on 7-of-15 shooting from the field.

The Racers did outscore Nebraska 35-32 in the second half, but never got any closer than 12 points

The Racers (6-5) take on Charlotte Monday night at 11:30 p.m. after the 49ers were defeated by host Hawaii.
