A second person who was in the car hit by a falling Denny's sign has died.

Family members say that Lloyd Curtis died early Monday, four days after the restaurant sign landed on the car with his wife Lillian, and adult daughter inside.

Lillian Curtis was pronounced dead shortly after the accident which occurred in Elizabethtown during a high wind event with 40 to 50-mile-per-hour wind gusts.

Curtis' granddaughter told WLKY-TV in Louisville he was on his way home to Columbia after open heart surgery in Louisville. Curtis was taken back to Louisville with fluid on his heart and lungs.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine Lloyd Curtis' exact cause of death.
