The remnants of tropical storm Beryl passed directly over western Kentucky and southern Illinois on Tuesday, still packing strong winds, heavy rains and eventually spawing tornadoes in Union County, then in southern Indiana.
At 3:30 pm, tornado damage was reported to a house near Morganfield and Grove Center, Kentucky, and power lines down. Another tornado was confirmed on the ground north of Sturgis in Union County.
At 4:24 pm a tornado was confirmed north of Mt. Vernon, Indiana.
At 4:40 pm, a tornado was confirmed on the ground southeast of New Harmony, Indiana. A tornado was observed south of Wadesville.
Trees were snapped in Gibson County and a pole barn was knocked down.
At 5:09 pm the weather service posted that a large tornado was confirmed west of Owensville, Indiana.
The National Weather Service eventually canceled a regionwide tornado watch and flash flood watch at about 7:30 p.m. They're making plans to send out damage survey teams on Wednesday.
