If you don't see your favorite farmer around town this week, it's probably because they've gone to the Farm and Machinery Show in Louisville.
More than 300,000 visitors are expected now through Saturday at the Kentucky Exposition Center for the nation's largest indoor farm show to see the latest products and equipment from more than 900 exhibitors covering 1.2 million square feet of display space.
The farm show is a destination for agricultural producers to discuss some of the industry’s most pressing issues during nearly two dozen seminars. Topics covered included global commodity markets, automation in the industry, cover crop strategies, and comparison of using drones vs. ground rigs in spraying.
Another huge attraction for the show is the Championship Tractor Pull nightly in Freedom Hall.
The Louisville Chamber of Commerce says the annual event is a $20 million boost for their local economy.
