The Kentucky State Police are looking to regain the title and get back on the cover of the American Association of State Troopers Best Looking Cruiser calendar.

After several years where the entry featured a single cruiser, KSP is highlighting teamwork and tactical support by calling in reinforcements. In addition to a 2024 Ford Mustang GT, the photo also features a 2024 Dodge Durango pursuit vehicle and a Bell 407 helicopter from their Aircraft Support Branch.

Kentucky State Police Commissioner Phillip Burnett, Jr. said, "This contest is a great opportunity to highlight the professionalism our troopers and pilots bring to the job every day. We're proud to represent Kentucky, and we're hoping everyone joins us in casting their vote."

The KSP won the contest in 2012 and 2022, and has been in the top five for the last seven years.

They won the contest with photos of a Chevrolet Camaro and a Chevrolet Tahoe. In 2024, KSP featured a new Ford Mustang GT pursuit vehicle photographed in Lexington to mark the return of the Mustang to the fleet. In 2023, the agency celebrated its 75th anniversary with a photo taken in eastern Kentucky featuring coal as a backdrop for two Dodge Chargers. One had the current gray paint scheme, and the other was the white and blue design of cruisers from 1978.

Anyone can vote in the contest on computers, tablets, and smartphones. The voting is open and runs through Friday, July 11, at 4 p.m.
