Kentucky Senate committee approves TikTok ban on state devices

A Kentucky Senate committee has unanimously approved a bill that would ban TikTok on state government devices.  
 
The measure is sponsored by Republican Senator Robbie Mills of Henderson, who says the Chinese-owned social media app mines huge amounts of private data.  
 
Last month, Governor Beshear issued an executive order banning TikTok on state government devices. This bill would make it law.  
 
The measure passed the State and Local Government Committe (9-0) and heads to the full Senate.
