Hankook Tire has announced an expansion bringing 500 additional jobs to its Clarksville facility.
Hankook officials unveiled the plan at a meeting of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board and said they are applying for a grant from the State of Tennessee to speed the expansion. The additional 500 jobs would bring the workforce at Hankook to around 1,940 total, which is more than originally promised when the company announced the plant in 2013.
The expansion brings total investment in the Clarksville area to over $1 billion. Hankook Tire Co., Ltd has its North American base of operations in Nashville.
