During his Team Kentucky update, Governor Andy Beshear announced more funds coming to portions of western Kentucky to help in the tornado recovery process.

$3.3 million from the West Kentucky State Aid Funding for Emergencies fund will go to Fulton County, the City of Mayfield, and several other entities for costs incurred during tornado recovery.

Governor Beshear said, "While our people in Eastern Kentucky are currently facing the tragic loss of precious lives taken too soon and homes swept off their foundations, we must also continue to support our communities in Western Kentucky that are still actively cleaning up from the devasting tornadoes that struck just two short weeks before Christmas. We will continue to be with these communities as they continue to clean up and rebuild in the months and even years to come."

The City of Mayfield will receive $2.4 million for debris removal costs and expenses not eligible for reimbursement from FEMA.

The North Marshall Water District is receiving $400,000 for repair to underground water lines.

The Marshall County Refuse District will get $35,000 to help repair damage to roads caused by debris removal trucks.

Fulton County will get $257,311 for debris removal costs, paving, and other financial assistance.

The Princeton Electric Board will be receiving $110,000 in local matching funds and assistance toward loans taken out to help keep the system operating after the tornado.

The governor said that, so far, all eligible applications for assistance have been approved.
