It's a Festivus tradition, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has issued his annual report on wasteful government spending.

Festivus worked its way into the lexicon through a "Seinfeld" episode called "The Strike" in 1997. However, the airing of the grievances and the feats of strength go back to author Daniel O'Keefe in the late 60's.

This is the tenth year for Senator Paul's list of spending grievances. Some of the over $1 trillion in waste includes a grant of $2 million for a study on kids and Facebook ads about food, $20 million for a show like "Sesame Street" in Iraq called “Ahlan Simsim", and over $7 million on "magical projects".

Paul said, "As always, taking the path to fiscal responsibility is often a lonely journey, but I’ve been fighting government waste like DOGE before DOGE was cool. And I will continue my fight against government waste this holiday season."
