Clarksville makes web list of hottest real estate ZIP codes

Clarksville has been named the hottest ZIP code in the country and a recurring homebuyer favorite by a national home-buying website.

The digital real estate company Opendoor ranked Clarksville’s ZIP code 37042 at the top of its annual list, based on housing affordability and for quality of life. 

The company described Clarksville as a thriving, close-knit local community, close to the action in Nashville.

Opendoor's Chelsea Goyer said Clarksville is ranked at the top for multiple reasons.

“As the Nashville market continues to have strong job growth, its surrounding areas have become the most desirable in the country for home buyers,” Goyer said. “For the second year, Clarksville is ranked No. 1 for its housing affordability, low taxes, high quality of life and close proximity to Nashville’s entertainment, dining and nightlife.”

Another middle Tennessee community, Murfreesboro, is also in this year's top ten. Neighboring Gallatin is also noted by the website as an emerging ZIP code for many of the same reasons.

Opendoor says 49% of survey respondents across the U.S. would be motivated to move somewhere new for a more affordable cost of living.
