Former Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin teased another run for the commonwealth's top office but left the Capitol without filing.

Bevin insinuated the possibility of another run on the final day to file for the May primary, leading a large media contingent to camp out near the Secretary of State's office, even leading Secretary Adams to set up a table so the assembled could "grab their popcorn."

The former governor spoke in the Capitol Rotunda, praising the potential of Kentucky and expressing his love for his adopted home. Bevin challenged the legislators in attendance, along with the media, to take on the more difficult issues facing Kentucky.

Bevin implored those in the race not to tear each other down, reminding them that they "are all Kentuckians," even going so far as to say that Governor Beshear is not the enemy.

The pension system in Kentucky for teachers and state workers was a hot-button issue during his administration, and Bevin insisted that the system is still not fixed. He said he took on that issue, not because he thought it would be popular, but because a failure of the system would be devastating to those left without the retirement they were promised.

Bevin wrapped his remarks by saying he was "going down the hall", implying he was headed to Michael Adams' office to file to run. However, he walked through the front door, got in a van, and drove away.

The filing deadline passed at 4 p.m. Eastern time.
