Outgoing Kentucky Treasurer Allison Ball will switch offices in the Capitol as she has won election as Kentucky Auditor.
The Associated Press called the race at 6:47 p.m. with about 50% of the vote counted. Ball was leading her challenger, Democrat Kimberley Reeder, a tax attorney originally from Rowan County, by 22%.
Ball had reached her term limit as treasurer. Prior to her election in 2015, Ball was a bankruptcy attorney and a former Assistant Floyd County Attorney.
She succeeds Mike Harmon as Auditor of Public Accounts.
