Friday’s severe weather brought thunderstorms and high winds ripping through the length of the Bluegrass state, which resulted in downed trees, power outages, property damage, and five fatal incidents.

According to Governor Andy Beshear, the five people who lost their lives due to Friday’s weather include a 23-year-old man in Edmonson County, a 63-year-old man in Logan County, an 84-year-old man in Bath County, a 68-year-old man in Simpson County, and a 41-year-old woman in Fayette County.

As of Monday morning, more than 125,000 Kentucky homes were still without power from Friday's storms. Just under 400,000 people in Kentucky were without power on Saturday.

In western Kentucky, Trigg County still had 566 outages; Christian County 267; Todd County 449; Muhlenberg County 824.

The surface barometric pressure at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport fell to an all-time record low of 977.1 millibars Friday, according to the National Weather Service. They said that is generally the same level of low pressure that accompanies a Category 2 hurricane, according to the Southeast Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association.
