A welfare check at a Metropolis truck stop turned into a drug arrest for a Calvert City woman.

On Friday, Metropolis Police were called to Acee's to check on a woman in a vehicle. The driver, 39-year-old Lorie A. Vaughn of Calvert City, was wanted on a failure to appear warrant out of McCracken County in a meth possession case.

Police searched her vehicle and reportedly located a pill container with the name scratched off. The container allegedly had suboxone inside, which she did not have a prescription for. They also said they found three glass pipes with drug residue.

Vaughn was arrested on the warrant and additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. She was taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
