WSIL-TV Chief Meteorologist Jim Rasor has announced his retirement.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Rasor said it was time to step away from the camera, with his last day on air taking place in late November.
Rasor said he plans to fill in details and answer questions over the next few weeks through Facebook and Facebook live sessions. He has also established a Facebook page where fans can keep up with him after his retirement.
Rasor, who has been with WSIL since 1987, said he hopes to spend the next month reflecting on the good times, the bloopers, the storms, the sunny days, and all of the amazing people he has worked with during his time at WSIL.
Although he is retiring, Rasor said he was a forecaster before he was on TV, and he will continue to forecast until he can't read the charts anymore.
