West Kentucky Community and Technical College has been awarded a $2,070,756 grant from the United States Department of Education Title III Strengthening Institutions Program competition, officials announced today.
The funding has been awarded to increase student and faculty technology readiness, improve course content, and support student success in diverse learning environments such as traditional, hybrid, and online classes.
A portion of the grant will be dedicated to establishing a "Tech Hub," utilizing digital platforms, tools, books, and supplemental learning technologies like simulation programs.
The grant will also support the development and implementation of a comprehensive campus "Wayfinding" strategy. WKCTC will use part of the funding to create campus maps, navigational signage, external building identification and parking signage, and digital navigation kiosks located within WKCTC buildings.
The fiscal strengthening portion of the grant will be combined with matching funds from Paducah Junior College, Inc., the foundation for WKCTC.
