Calloway County Fire-Rescue is urging the public to push aside their excuses and sign up to serve the community.
Fire department officials said they've heard all the excuses, whether it's not always being available, being too young or too old, or not having the proper knowledge. At the end of the day, these are just excuses.
They said, "We are all volunteers. We can when we can and we can't when we can't."
The fire department said it's an incredible job where you get paid in ways that aren't money.
Those interested are asked to contact their headquarters at 270-753-4112, or visit them at 101 E. Sycamore Street in Murray to pick up an application.
Applications are also available online.
