Deputies serving an arrest warrant not only got their man, but they got a second one, as well.
Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies went to a home in the Saratoga area to serve an arrest warrant on 30-year-old Caleb M. Welborn of Eddyville. Welborn was wanted for failure to appear in Lyon District Court. While there, they recognized 47-year-old Michael W. Reed of Calvert City, who was on parole for a meth trafficking conviction in Lyon County. Kentucky Probation and Parole was contacted, and it was determined that being in the home with Welborn constituted a violation of the conditions of parole.
A search of a vehicle on the property reportedly uncovered methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Welborn was arrested on the warrant. Reed was arrested and charged with possession of meth and marijuana. Both were taken to the Crittenden County Detention Center.
