Two people were arrested Wednesday in connection with a Paducah theft investigation.

On Tuesday the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office went to a business in the 4000 block of Clarks River Road where a suspect had driven up to the property on a modified go-kart and cut multiple copper wires from a breaker box. The box was damaged during the theft.

Tuesday night, deputies were dispatched to the Five Star on Clarks River Road. It was reported that the go-kart and a man matching the description of one seen on surveillance video were at the store.

Fifty-year-old Jason C. Peace was reportedly found in possession of a glass smoking pipe containing methamphetamine.

Peace was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

On Wednesday, deputies searched Peace’s home where they recovered the stolen copper wire and a small quantity of meth.

Along with drug charges, Peace was also charged with criminal mischief and two probation violation warrants.

They also found 49-year-old Kimberly Humphrey of Eddyville, who was arrested on charges including possession of a controlled substance.
