A Paducah man and woman were charged with numerous offenses early Friday morning after an officer saw them walking in the middle of a roadway.

Paducah Police said they saw the man and woman walking in the middle of Center Street and got out to speak to them. As the officer was getting out of their vehicle, both individuals fled on foot.

A second officer saw 33-year-old Katherine Lapierre hiding behind an air conditioning unit and she fled again before being caught in the 2300 block of Center Street.

After giving numerous false identifiers, officers were able to identify Lapierre and found she had numerous warrants for her arrest. Officers discovered a loaded .22 caliber pistol in her jacket pocket along with suspected methamphetamine in her purse.

Officers also determined Lapierre is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Investigators also found 43-year-old Ned E. Conner hiding under a porch. Conner was not in compliance with the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry and also had warrants for his arrest.

Both were lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
