Two Paducah men have been charged with drug trafficking following a joint multi-agency investigation.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they arrested 34-year-old Joshua B. Hill and 33-year-old Dorion Q. Shumpert following the investigation with Calloway and Marshall County Sheriff's Offices. Both men were arrested following the seizure of more than two pounds of crystal methamphetamine.

Over the pas year the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints alleging that Hill and Shumpert were selling illegal drugs in Paducah.

In June their office initiated a drug investigation that ultimately led to a search warrant being executed at Hill’s home in Graves County. During the investigation detectives reportedly seized over one pound of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, and money believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales. Hill was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in marijuana and other offenses. Hill was later released from custody in November of 2023 on bond.

During the month of December, the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office initiated a drug investigation that revealed that Hill was selling large quantities of crystal methamphetamine. All three agencies worked together collaboratively Monday night to locate and arrest both men. Both men were located on the parking lot of Paducah hotel just before 11pm in a rental car. When detectives moved in to arrest them, Hill allegedly attempted to flee on foot.  Hill was caught after a short foot chase and placed under arrest. During a search of Hill detectives reportedly located approximately 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine inside his coat.

Shumpert was arrested after a search of the vehicle he was in revealed additional crystal methamphetamine and doses of oxycodone.  Shumpert was arrested in September of 2022 by the Paducah Police Department for two counts of trafficking in Fentanyl and is currently out on bond awaiting trial.

As part of the investigation detectives executed a search warrant on a hotel room located at 5006 Hinkleville Road in Paducah. During a search of the room detectives said they seized a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, and assorted drug paraphernalia commonly used to traffic in illegal drugs.
