Traffic stop lands Paducah man behind bars on drug, other charges

An early Monday morning traffic stop in McCracken County sent a wanted Paducah man to jail on drug charges.

Authorities attempted to stop a vehicle on Trimble Street for an alleged traffic violation, when the driver, later identified as 38-year-old Antonio Smith, reportedly threw something out of his window.

Smith was found to have several outstanding warrants, and a search allegedly uncovered cash.

Deputies said cocaine that had been thrown from the vehicle was found.

Smith was charged with reckless driving, fleeing or evading police, tampering with physical evidence, trafficking in cocaine, and other traffic related offenses.
