A traffic stop in Trigg County nabbed a Cadiz man wanted in Florida with drugs and guns.

A Trigg County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, later identified as Randy Fender, Jr,  was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and could not produce a driver’s license or insurance. He reportedly volunteered to the deputy that his license was DUI-suspended back in 2012 in Florida.

The deputy searched Fender’s vehicle and is said to have located several guns, marijuana, and a glass pipe with alleged meth residue. More methamphetamine was found concealed in the car’s dashboard. Fender’s home on Cunningham Avenue in Cadiz was also searched. There, more meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were recovered.

A computer check on Fender revealed that he had outstanding warrants for his arrest issued in Florida. He was arrested on the warrants and additionally charged with trafficking meth, driving on a DUI suspended license, failure to wear seat belts, possession of marijuana, and two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
