A traffic stop around midnight Monday landed a Clinton man in jail on drug and DUI charges.

A deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Travis Jones of Clinton for a violation near North Friendship and Hunter’s Ridge Road. During the stop, the deputy reportedly determined that Jones was under the influence and arrested him.

Jones' vehicle was searched after deputies allegedly caught the aroma of marijuana. The search allegedly located about 14 ounces of marijuana portioned for sale in addition to scales and other paraphernalia. They also are said to have found $805 thought to be from the sale of drugs.

Jones was charged with trafficking in marijuana, driving under the influence of alcohol, and speeding. He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
