A drug investigation at a Paducah hotel on Friday ended in numerous drug and gun charges for a Paducah man.
Detectives received a tip Friday afternoon alleging that illegal drug activity was taking place at a hotel on Joe Clifton Drive. Detectives said it was determined that 47-year-old Miguel A. Gutierrez Jr. was staying in the room in question.
Before detectives could search the room, Gutierrez was seen leaving in a vehicle. Authorities attempted to stop him on Trimble Street, but he fled before losing control of his vehicle at the intersection of 31st and Jefferson Street.
Gutierrez was arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. During a search of his vehicle and hotel room, detectives reportedly found a handgun and crystal methamphetamine.
He was charged with fleeing or evading police, DUI, possession of a handgun by a felon, firearm enhanced meth trafficking, posssession of cocaine, and numerous traffic offenses.
