US 51/Cairo bridge reopened to traffic

The US 51 Ohio River /Cairo Bridge between Wickliffe and Cairo is open as deck railing work has been completed.

The Cairo Bridge may be used as a detour, particularly for commercial vehicles, during the upcoming I-24 Ohio River Bridge Rehab Project.

As a reminder, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on the I-24 Ohio River Bridge between Paducah and Metropolis from Monday until October 14. Concrete barriers will be installed across the length of the bridge and width restrictions will be in effect. 

Due to weight, height and width restrictions, commercial vehicles are prohibited from crossing the U.S. 45 Ohio River "Brookport" Bridge between Paducah and Brookport.
