Three arrested after brief standoff in Mayfield home

Three people were arrested on drug charges in Mayfield during a probation and parole home visit on Thursday.

The Mayfield Police Department said that on Thursday it assisted probation and parole officers at the residence of 53-year-old Regina Sellers on West Broadway Street after learning that 40-year-old William McCampbell was allegedly inside with illegal drugs and a firearm.

Authorities found McCampbell hiding in the attic. Police said he was taken into custody after a brief standoff.

Another individual, 43-year-old Chandra Turner, was also located inside.

Investigators said they found methamphetamines, marijuana, cocaine and a significant amount of cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

McCampbell was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

Sellers was charged with possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance.

Turner was charged with hindering prosecution or apprehension, and complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance.

All three were arrested taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center, then transferred to local jails.
