Tennessee man in critical condition following Wednesday's accident on I-24

An Tennessee man is in critical condition following a three-vehicle accident that shut down part of Interstate 24 on Wednesday. 

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened at the 2 mile marker.

During their investigation they said 20-year-old William Davis of Belvidere, TN was driving a van westbound on Interstate 24 when he came upon slowed traffic and collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Jeffrey Jackson of Hoover, AL.

Davis then struck the rear of a tractor trailer driven by 46-year-old by Dymtro Dutchak of Wheeling, IL.

Davis sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was flown to an out of state hospital for treatment, where he remains in critical condition.
