A Tennessee man has been arrested and extradited back to Kentucky to face charges in an identity theft case.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said the case dates back to July 2025, after a person in Ledbetter said their bank account had been hacked. The individual told deputies that about $17,000 had been moved from the account without permission. The investigation led the lead deputy to 23-year-old Fernando O. Diaz of Madison, Tennessee as a suspect. There was enough evidence to go before the Livingston County Grand Jury in October and get an indictment.

Diaz was located and arrested in Tennessee before being brought to Kentucky to face the charges of identity theft without consent. He was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
