A Tennessee man faces drug charges in Paducah following a traffic stop in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
A McCracken County Sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-24 just after midnight. The deputy clocked the vehicle at 96mph in a 70mph zone. The driver, 25-year-old Andrew O'Neal of Morristown, Tennessee, pulled over near the 11-mile marker.
As the deputy approached the vehicle, he reportedly could smell an odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered nearly 100 grams of cocaine, several pounds of marijuana, LSD, mushrooms, large bottles of promethazine, and cash.
O'Neal was arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine, marijuana, LSD, hallucinogens, and codeine, the sale of volatile substances for persons to inhale, and traffic offenses.
