With bitterly cold temperatures expected over the next couple of nights, the Tennessee Valley Authority is asking customers to conserve power to help maintain the stability of the regional grid.

Customers are asked to lower their thermostats a degree or two.  For every degree below 68 degrees, the savings could add as much as 3% of your future electric bill.

Turn off any electrical devices not in use.

Also, delay the use of large applicances like washing machines, dishwashers, dryers and ovens during peak demand times of 6-9 pm Wednesday evening.
