A Mayfield man confessed Wednesday to burgularizing the Mayfield Water Electric Service building on West Farthing Street and setting fire to it.
Mayfield Police learned through its investigation 26 year old Hunter Mitchum was the suspect. He was traced to a Taylor Drive residence.
Investigators said a search of the home found items stolen from the burgulary. Mitchum then confessed to the burgulary and fire.
He was charged with arson, two counts of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, criminal mischief and 12 counts of fradulent use of a credit card.
Mitchum is in the McCracken County Regional Jail as the investigation continues.
